Men’s golf team places 3rd in rain-shortened tourney

Tuesday’s third round was canceled due to rain at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, giving the men’s golf team a third-place finish. The Frogs shot a five-under-par score of 563 in two rounds.

TCU had four golfers in the top 20. Sophomore David Schultz tied for 12th with a score of 140, the third time in four events that Schultz has finished in the top 20. Freshman Colby Beckstrom and sophomore J.J. Killeen posted 141s to tie for 17th.

Also in the top 20 was senior Adam Rubinson, shooting an even-par 142. Redshirt freshman Mark Jauernek tied for 46th place with a seven-over 149 in his first career tournament.
