Thompson named Athlete of the Week for second time

For the second time this fall, freshman Alayne Thompson was named the Conference USA Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Thompson was fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational, running the 6K course in a time of 21:50 to lead the Frogs to a sixth-place finish in the 21-team field.

Thompson has finished in the top-five in each of the four fall events. Thompson was named the C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the week after winning the Sam Houston State Invitational.
