The
Eta Psi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha is sponsoring the
first Feed the Need Food Drive Wednesday in Ed Landreth
Hall. This will be TCUs first stepshow that will
include high school and college teams with other performances.
Admission is three canned goods. All proceeds will be
donated to area homeless shelters and other groups.

The
Betsy Colquitt Reading Series will present poet Bruce
Bond at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Reed Hall, Room 104.
His full-length collections of poetry include Independence
Days (the 1990 winner of the R. Gross Award),
The Anteroom of Paradis (the 1991 winner
of the Colladay Award, QRL) and his latest collection,
Cinder.
All
English majors and minors who wish to apply for membership
in Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society, are invited
to pick up applications from the English department
office, Reed Hall, Room 314. The deadline is Nov. 22.
Staff
Assembly will host a brown bag lunch from noon to 1
p.m. Thursday in the Student Center, Room 207. The topic
is Leadership: What am I and what do I need?
presented by Russell Elleven, former assistant director
of Residential Life.
Bring your own lunch, but dessert and drinks will be
provided.
The
deadline for the annual Creative Writing Contests is
Friday. Nearly $3,000 will be awarded to students for
essays, fiction and poetry. Rules and entry forms are
available from the English department in Reed Hall,
Room 314 or from the Writing Center, Student Center
Basement, Room 11A.

Alliance and Programming Council will present Gay,
Greek and Proud at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Student
Center Lounge. In his multi-media presentation, Leif
Mitchell draws on his experience and knowledge of gay
and lesbian issues as they relate to students to provide
concrete ways to make fraternities and sororities more
inclusive of gay, lesbian and bisexual people.
Time
Management that Works, a brown bag lunch, will be from
noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 20 in the Student Center, Room 207.
Brent OBannon will talk about effective time management.
The
deadline for applications for the Truman Scholarship
is Dec. 2. The scholarship provides up to $30,000 to
help fund graduate study for those seeking to enter
public service. Applications are available at (www.truman.gov).
Applications and questions should be directed to Ralph
Carter in the political science department, Sadler Hall,
Room 205.
Flu
shots are available at the Health Center for students
only. The hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays and mornings only on Tuesdays
and Thursdays. The cost is $15.
