Lady Frogs win opening exhibition big Sunday

The TCU Lady Frogs, rated 20th in the preseason ESPN/USA Today poll, posted a 95-59 victory over RTU Klondaika in TCU’s first exhibition game of the season. The Frogs, who had just nine players available for game duty, led the Latvian traveling squad 53-23 at halftime.

Sandora Irvin led all players with 24 points and 11 rebounds. She connected on 10-of-22 shots on the day, and played a team-high 34 minutes. Joining Irvin in double-figure scoring were Candace Baldwin (16), Amy Pack (14), Ebony Shaw (12), Kim Ortega (10) and Tracy Wynn (10). Baldwin was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, including 3-for-3 from three-point range.

TCU dominated on the glass, holding a 54-37 rebounding margin. TCU attempted 82 shots on the afternoon, while RTU Klondaika managed just 51 attempts. TCU committed just nine turnovers while causing 24 for RTU.
