Bail out must benefit laid off workers

For two and half days, the airline industry was brought to its knees.
Flights were stopped. Passengers were stranded across the country. Airlines lost millions of dollars in partial refunds.
And with the threat of bankruptcy and large losses for many companies, including American Airlines based in Fort Worth, tens of thousands of jobs are expected to be eliminated.
The terrorist attacks Sept. 11 not only damaged the American psyche, but they also hurt a very large sector of our economy.

With millions of others around the country, I have been struggling with the events of the past week, searching and grappling for any comfort and solace I can find in this time of terror. I have faith in the Lord’s plan for us, and my constant prayers to Him keep me calm.
