TCU (7-13, 1-7 Conference USA) lost its fourth straight game 71-67 against South Florida (11-8, 4-4 C-USA) Tuesday.

Senior forward Bingo Merriex and senior Junior Blount scored 16 and 14, respectively, to lead the Frogs. Sophomore guard Corey Santee had 11 points, and junior guard Nucleus Smith added 10 points. TCU has lost eight of its last nine games.

TCU led 31-30 at halftime after eight lead changes and six ties. Reggie Kohn scored 10 points in the first six minutes of the second half to lead the Bulls on a 16-3 run. The Frogs responded with 10 of the next 12 points, cutting the deficit to 48-46. They never drew closer however.

Kohn, who also had three steals, scored a season-high 21 points and had five assists to lead South Florida. He hadn’t scored more than 20 points in a game since his career-best 30 at TCU last February. Jimmy Baxter added 12 points and Will McDonald had nine points and 11 rebounds for South Florida, which improved to 10-1 at the Sun Dome.
