COMMENTARY

The year is 1967. The location: Vietnam. A 19-year-old American man hunkers down on a jungle floor covered with muck. Mammoth mosquitos plunge their needles into his brawny arms. A drop of sweat tumbles down his nose. Rockets scream overhead.
Life is short, make it count
COMMENTARY

A friend and role model of mine, an 18-year-old kid from Enid, Okla. named Kraig, has just died in his second bout of cancer. Having survived Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma my sophomore year, I was called upon in my senior year of high school to set an example for him and be his cancer buddy, so to speak.
