Fresh faces fill Frogs’ rotation

Seven of the 14 members of the TCU men’s basketball team have yet to put on Horned Frog purple and white in a regular season contest. With the departure of four seniors and the transfer of two other letter-winners from last year’s squad, the 2003-04 Frogs feature a team laden with youth and inexperience as a group.
Improving the defense is key to Frogs’ success

The 2002-03 men’s basketball season marked Neil Dougherty’s first full season as the Horned Frogs’ head coach. At season’s end, the Frogs compiled an overall record of 9-19, with a Conference USA record of 3-13. Dougherty knew if the Frogs were to get back to their winning tradition, the focus would need to be on their defense.
Sophomore leads team both on, off court

Head coach Neil Dougherty, who enters his second year at TCU, is determined to rebuild the men’s basketball program this season. With four freshmen and two transfer players joining the team for the 2003-04 season, the Frogs are young, leaving Dougherty searching for players to assume leadership roles.

COMMENTARY

Year one of the Neil Dougherty regime got off to an inauspicious start last season, as the Frogs compiled a 9-19 record, finishing tied for last place in Conference USA.

COMMENTARY

With a preseason top 25 ranking, last year’s women’s basketball team was out to prove they belonged in the upper echelon of programs in the country. What followed was a sputtering start to the season that included blowout losses to Purdue, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Texas, and a quick fall from the top 25 ranks.
Old rivals face new battle

Freshmen point guards Natasha Lacy and Adrianne Ross enter their eighth year of playing basketball together this season, but this is the first time they will wear the same uniform.
