Keys to Victory

1 Get Dunbar the ball
Junior receiver LaTarence Dunbar was virtually taken out of the game last week by the Nebraska defense. The Horned Frogs need to get its most explosive player touches. Dunbar is too fast, too agile and too athletic not to get the football. TCU has talked about putting Dunbar in the backfield occasionally to give him a chance to make plays. Maybe the Frogs should give it a few extra shots Saturday.

2 Run the ball
TCU needs to prove that it can run the football in the post-LT era. North Texas has two standouts on defense in linebacker Brad Kassell and defensive tackle Brandon Kennedy. That’s it. North Texas gave up over 180 rushing yards a game last season. The Frogs need to prove they can run the football against a team they are supposed to be able to run against.

3 Avoid penalties
The Frogs had 11 turnovers for 85 years against Nebraska last week. That was too much — and a reason why TCU could not come back. The Frogs can’t shoot themselves in the foot against what is essentially an inferior program. More disciplined play early will help the Frogs later in the season when they are playing Louisville or Southern Miss.
