Announcements of campus events, public meetings and other general campus information should be brought to the TCU Daily Skiff office at Moudy Building South, Room 291, mailed to TCU Box 298050 or e-mailed to (skiffletters@tcu.edu). Deadline for receiving announcements is 2 p.m. the day before they are to run. The Skiff reserves the right to edit submissions for style, taste and space available.

  • The TCU Young Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. today in Beasley Hall, room 205.

  • Flu shots will be available from the TCU Health Center beginning Wednesday for $12. The Health Center is open from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information call (817) 257-7940.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Ambassadors is sponsoring a Scary Movie Night at 9 p.m. Wednesday on the grassy hill by the DG and Theta Houses. The movie is “Friday the 13th” and popcorn and hot chocolate will be served.

  • The M.J. Neeley School of Business is offering Microsoft Office User Specialist certification in Word, Powerpoint and Excel. MOUS Exams are $30 until the end of October. This certification is a great addition to your resume.   • The deadline to register for Up ‘til Dawn has been extended until Nov. 1, but spots are filling up fast. Only the first 50 teams are eligible to participate. For more information call Emily Berry, Up ‘til Dawn director, at (817) 926-2415.

  • Applications for the Washington Internship Program are now available. The deadline to turn in applications is Nov. 5. For more information call (817) 257-7395.

  • The English department invites students to enter their work in the annual Creative Writing Contests. Nearly $3,000 will be awarded for essays, fiction and poetry. Entries must be turned in by Nov. 9. Rules and entry forms are available in the English department office in Reed Hall, room 314, or in the Writing Center.
