Don Mills, vice chancellor for student affairs, said that he was
happy to present the newly established chancellors award to
the fraternity, because he said the fraternity showed outstanding
skills in academic excellence, philanthropy and contribution to
the TCU community as a whole.

than 1,000 set to receive diplomas at convention center

1876, two students received diplomas at the first graduation ceremony
for the institution that would become TCU. 
This year, more than 1,100 students will walk the stage in the largest
graduation ceremony in TCU history, said Margaret Kelly, director
of special projects.

Dozens
injured in Manhattan building explosion Thursday

YORK (AP) An explosion that may have been caused by chemicals
stored in a basement rocked a 10-story commercial building Thursday,
hurling glass and rubble across a city block and injuring 42 people,
at least 10 of them critically.
