For many sports teams, the halfway point of a season is a time to measure the team’s success.
At the halfway point of TCU’s first tour of Conference USA baseball, things were looking very hopeful for the team. The Frogs were in first place and seemed poised for a favorable position in the conference tournament.

Down 2-0 to Dallas in their best-of-five series, the Timberwolves are frantically trying to keep up with the sharp-shooting, running-and-gunning Mavericks, the NBA’s highest-scoring team.

Beijing could claim half of Ming’s salary

SHANGHAI, China — Yao Ming will have a big partner in his NBA career — the Chinese government.
Under regulations issued by the China Basketball Association, the 7-foot-5 Yao would be forced to hand over half of his income to China’s government and sports authorities.
