Tezza named C-USA co-athlete of the week
Freshman Jacopo Tezza was named the Conference USA co-Athlete of the Week. He shares the title with Renato Silveira of South Florida. Jacopo is 9-1 overall this season, losing only four sets out of 22 this season and dropping only one match.

Tezza helped lead the Frogs to wins over East Carolina and No. 30 Louisville this past weekend at the C-USA Shootout. At the No. four singles position, he defeated Paulo Baumer of ECU 6-4; 7-6 (8-6 Tiebreaker) and Matt Mayer of Louisville 6-4; 4-6; 6-2.

Frogs begin practicing for 2003 football season

The football team was on the practice field again Tuesday, the second of four practices scheduled this week. After Thursday’s practice, the Frogs will take about 10 days off for spring break before resuming their spring drills.

The defending Conference USA and AXA Liberty Bowl champion began spring football drills Monday afternoon on the Morris practice facilities. The squad went through a 25-period practice in helmets and shorts, the first of 15 scheduled practices over the next month, culminating with the annual spring game Saturday, April 5.

The Frogs will also be looking for a No. 2 quarterback this spring to backup Tye Gunn. Gunn will sit out the contact drills this spring while recovering from knee surgery.
